MES – Proficy Historian


This course is designed for engineers (either in process engineering, automation, or instrumentation) who need to develop and / or configure applications using a Proficy Historian system.

This course is designed for engineers (either in process engineering, automation, or instrumentation) who need to develop and / or configure applications using a Proficy Historian system.

(Pre) Knowledge
To join this course, a good working knowledge of Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and/or Windows XP operating systems is required.

Global Contents
The course outline focuses on Proficy Historian Development, thus making engineers competent with Proficy Historian. In principal, the course is intended for new users, although existing knowledge of GE Fanuc Automation software is highly advantageous.

Specific Contents

Upon completion of the course, the student will have an understanding of the following:

  • Understand architecture communication between Proficy Historian Servers and Proficy Historian Client nodes
  • Configure Proficy Historian nodes using the Proficy Historian Administrator

  • Configure Proficy Historian Data Collectors, including iFIX Collector, OPC Collector, and File Collector
  • Manage and configure archives

  • View collected data using the Excel Add-In Client

  • Configure the Proficy Historian OLE DB Provider

  • Configure the Calculation Collector and the Server-to-Server Collector
  • Design and build an Proficy Historian security strategy

  • Use a variety of Proficy Historian Utilities and Operating System administrative options to troubleshoot
  • Use the Proficy Historian SDK to enhance a Proficy Historian application.
