Target Group
This training is designed for Siemens S7 PLC-programmers who want to learn how to build STEP 7-applications with ‘S7-GRAPH”. This programming language is especially useful when controlling sequential processes. S7-GRAPH is the Siemens STEP 7 implementation of the ‘Sequential Function Chart’ as defined in the IEC 61131 standard.
(Pre) Knowledge
To be able to follow this training the trainees should be familiar with the Siemens STEP 7 programming suite as well as with S7-PLC’s. Some knowledge of programming will be a plus but is not a requirement.
Global Contents
In the introduction an explanation will be given about the relationship of S7-GRAPH with ‘Function Block Diagram’ (FBD), ‘Ladder Diagram’ (LAD) and ‘Statement List’ (STL). The trainee will learn to build an S7 application using sequential design techniques. The application of the S7-GRAPH extension will be discussed and extensive attention will be paid to the editor. The specific debug functions of S7-GRAPH will also be handled.
Methods
The course will be supported by a Powerpoint presentation and the STEP 7 programming environment itself. A video-beamer is used so all trainees can follow every trainer action on screen. All hardware, such as processors and I/O modules, will be available for testing purposes. Every trainee will have a PC installed with STEP 7 including the GRAPH editor, an MPI-adapter and a PLC.
